Tucked In the woods just moments away from the Grand Lake Superior

Find retreat and quiet on 20 acres of woods with Lake Superior not more than minutes away by drive, and moments away by view.

Trails and gardens await you on our property, along with an abundant orchard in the Fall.

Every night’s stay is inclusive of a conversation with Anna, an ordained ELCA pastor and public theologian.

Meet on the deck of the studio, in a local coffee shop or brewery, or on a walk along the Shore.

All, of course, are welcome.

The Spent Dandelion is for those who are spent

We know the rough and the tumble of life, even on an ordinary day.

The Spent Dandelion, therefore, is intended for those who desire an intentional opportunity for precisely what our tagline promises: retreat, reflection, and restoration.

Whether you be a person of faith or of uncertain faith, a church leader or a church member, a religious scholar needing time and a place to research or someone who has just learned that questions about God are ok, the Spent Dandelion welcomes you.

It is not a vacation rental along the lines of the fine offerings you can find at an AirBnB or a VRBO, but rather a place to soak in the nature, the artists, the food of the North Shore, and also to dedicate some time to have conversation about one’s faith, one’s theology, and one’s connection to It All.

In addition to the sweet studio, the proximity to the Shore, and the conversation time, Anna has a 4,000+ library which she is pleased to share.

This summer, it will be moved to a new spot in town providing better access to the resources, and to the local eateries and brewery!
